Largo Flying Club General Meeting
Minutes of November 6, 2018
Meeting called to order at 7 pm by President Wojciechowski. There were 33 members present.
1. Minutes of the October 2, 2018 meeting were read and approved. Motion to accept by Richard
Birchmire, seconded by Mike Donnell. Motion carried.
2. Reports from officers:
a. Vice President Ray Crumrine reported there will be a fun fly this weekend. The events will be
wheel of tricks, team event cutting ribbon, and name your spot.
b. Secretary Mary Tittle had no report.
c. Safety Officer Tim Wojciechowski reported there have been a few members taxiing before the
yellow line prior to take off and after landing. He reminded members there is no taxiing in the pit
area.
d. Field Maintenance Officer Robie Riggle reported the lines were repainted, areas of the runway
were patched, and a flag holder was added. He thanked Mike Bluestein, Ray Smith, Mary and
Larry Tittle, Eddie Thomas, Manny DeSousa, Steve Philbin, and Don Vought for assistance.
e. Chief Flight Instructor Dave Gearheart had no report. He is working on a program for flight
instruction.
f. Youth Program Director Larry Tittle reported he will have items for sale at the swap meet for the
summer program.
g. Webmaster John Miller was not present.
3. Old Business
a. Nominations: Daryl Maurer reported on the slate of candidates for the December elections
President – Tom Wojciechowski
Vice President – Ray Crumrine
Treasurer – Ted Wojciechowski
Secretary – Mary Tittle
Board of Directors – Ron Cheshire, Steve Philbin, Ray Smith, Steve Wofsey
President Wojciechowski asked for any further nominations. Hearing none, nominations were
closed.
b. Flight station at the east end: The Board decided not to add a flight station at the east end.
c. Swap meet: Ron Cheshire reported everything is ready for the swap meet on November 17.
Gates will open at 7 am. Cost is $3.00 per car. Free hot dogs while they last.
d. Money in the treasury: Discussed having a catered dinner before the meeting in December and
possibly giving away a plane. Will need to talk with Doug Betts at the community center. Other
ideas are to purchase new benches and chairs for the field.
4. New Business:
a. New Members/Guests: Reese Norris
b. Field maintenance: Robie Riggle was thanked for all his work on the field. Discussed possible
ways to manage field maintenance.
