Largo Flying Club General Meeting
Minutes of October 2, 2018
Meeting called to order at 7 pm by President Wojciechowski. There were 18 members present.
1. Minutes of the September 4, 2018 meeting were read and approved. Motion to accept by Larry Tittle,
seconded by Steve Philbin. Motion carried.
2. Reports from officers:
a. Vice President Ray Crumrine reported there will be a fun fly this Saturday. Events will be timed
taxi, thread the needle, and cone around. There will be combat with enough participants.
b. Secretary Mary Tittle had no report.
c. Safety Officer Tim Wojciechowski was not present. President Wojciechowski reported one
member was grounded for a week for crashing out of bounds.
d. Field Maintenance Officer Robie Riggle reported there was a lipo battery fire due to being
overcharged. He reminded members to always check the settings on the charger. The slow fly
area needs some repair and the lines need to be repainted. Robie said he had decided not to
volunteer for the field maintenance officer position next year.
e. Chief Flight Instructor Dave Gearheart was not present. President Wojciechowski reported
Josh Booth, Keith Evert, and Owais Hassan have achieved solo flight.
f. Youth Program Director Larry Tittle reminded members to think about volunteering for the
summer camp next July.
g. Webmaster John Miller had no report.
3. Old Business
a. President Wojciechowski appointed Daryl Maurer as Nominations Chairperson.
4. New Business:
a. New Members/Guests: None
b. Swap meet: Ron Cheshire completed flyers for the November 17 swap meet. The ad was in
the AMA magazine.
c. GE aviation request: The team from GE aviation has requested to use the southeast slow fly
area for testing software on quadcopters. President Wojciechowski will send an e-mail to the
members to let them know this may be happening.
Motion to adjourn at 8:05 pm by John Miller, seconded by Richard Birchmire. Motion carried.
